      It is well known that regular left acts and inverse left acts are natural generalizations of von Neumann regular semigroups and inverse semigroups,respectively. As a natural generalization of left inverse semigroups, we introduce a concept of L-inverse left acts. Some characterizations of monoids are given using properties of L-inverse left acts.
