The Maximal Subgroups in Sp(2n,F2)Containing Long Root Subgroups

Abstract:

      All maximal subgroups in PS_p(2n,F) which contain long root subgroups have been determined in [1] for F≠F₂ and will be determined here for F = F₂. Other than the three types of reducible or imprimitive maximal subgroups listed in[l], we have here the orthogonal groups O(2n,F₂,Q) and the symmetric groups S_2n+2 (n even and ≥4) to complete our list.
