| Abstract: |
| The paper generalizes the classical Caristi's fixed point theorem. As an application, the classical Ekeland variational principle is generalized. In addition, it is proved that the generalized Caristi's fixed point theorem is equivalent to the generalized Ekeland variational principle. |
